Springbank Angels

Presentation

To celebrate the 5 years of existence of Christian Drouin's Expérimental range and our tenth edition, we had the great joy of partnering with the most iconic brand of artisanal Scottish whiskey: Springbank.
Our relationship with Springbank is not new since the distillery had used our calvados barrels for the aging of some of their whiskeys twenty years ago.
The challenge of this new edition was to combine the apple with the peat notes of the Springbank barrels (10-12 ppm). For this, we chose a very deep 19-year-old Pays d'Auge calvados.

It was left for 5 months in 8 of these barrels for a limited edition of 2130 bottles.
Eight barrels of Drouin calvados were exchanged at Springbank.

Tasting note:

The nose opens with deep notes of roasted apples with smoky aromas. It then evolves into aromas of plum and clafouti with slightly earthy accents.
The palate is rich, opulent, structured, marked by toasted notes.
The peat is expressed in the finish.

A majestic calvados of strength and power.
